Follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ with the added reality tool of the New Testament

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is using augmented reality technology to bring to life videos, articles, scriptures and images related to the life and ministry of Jesus Christ in the Holy Land.

The new study tool coincides with the Church’s “Come follow me” in 2023 New Testament Studies. The resource will be available at ChurchofJesusChrist.org in 24 languages ​​by the end of the year.

Simply hold your mobile phone or tablet on a flat surface and a three-dimensional map of the Holy Land will appear. After an event is selected, up to four icons will appear at the bottom of the screen, allowing you to access related content. Each of the 91 events is linked to scriptures, videos, articles and images to help you learn more about the event.

For example, selecting the camera icon will give you a corresponding tag Stories of the New Testament For children, as well as drawings or photographs (when there is no children’s reader story). It was designed to help families share their experiences together, including the children’s resources.

A scripture icon is attached to a verse passage in the King James Version of the Bible.

The icon of the play button shows the relevant video from the church Bible videos Series, when available.

This augmented reality experience is designed to help any student of the New Testament gain a stronger connection with the Savior’s teachings.
